EGU General Assembly 2026
Authors: Stuart Grange, Muhammad Tufail, Phillip Agredazywczuk
Three members of our team (Philip, Muhammad, and Stuart) attended EGU26 in Vienna for the week of May 4, 2026. EGU is a special conference because it is the largest European conference covering the geosciences, with over 20000 participants.
EGU is held every Spring at the Vienna International Centre
Phillip presented a poster on the development of the rapid nitrous oxide separator (RAPTOR) preconcentration unit, aiming to reach an isotopic precision of < 0.1 ‰ and better resolve tropospheric N2O budgets (EGU26-523). Muhammad had an oral presentation titled Modelling Nitrous Oxide Emissions from Croplands in sub-Saharan Africa Using the CN-Model (EGU26-1169), and Stuart had an oral presentation exploring the global carbon sinks and their behaviour based on atmospheric observations -- with an emphasis on measurements from Jungfraujoch (EGU26-7090). All contributions were received very well and many discussions were had with current, previous, and new colleagues.
Stuart, Muhammad and Phillip gave excellent presentations and enjoyed a intense week of science and networking
EGU makes for a busy and exhausting week, but it was a pleasure and Vienna is a fantastic city to visit. We thank the large organising committee for a successful event!
